Jamboard @GoogleEDU

This is a reminder that Google will wind down the Jamboard app starting October 1, 2024. Between October 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024, the app will be placed in “view-only” mode and you’ll no longer be able to create new or edit existing Jams on any platform, including the web, iOS, and Android platforms. During this time you can continue to back up your Jam files.

What you need to know

Jamboard files (Jams) currently saved in Drive will automatically be converted to PDFs. Starting October 1, 2024, Google will begin the PDF conversion process and the PDFs will be placed in the same Drive location as the Jam. Please note the following details about the PDFs:

  • PDF conversions are done on a best-effort basis. We recommend that you proactively migrate the Jams to one of our partners to continue working on them.
  • The PDF will have the same created and last modified dates as the original Jam and it’ll be shared with the same people that the Jam was shared with.
    • Once a PDF has been created, any changes to the original Jam file, such as file location or shared list, will not be carried over to the PDF.
  • If the Jam was transferred to a new person, but the new owner has not accepted, the original person will receive the PDF.

After PDF conversions, Jams will remain in Drive and can still be migrated to one of our whiteboard partners using their import tools. After December 31, 2024, the Jams will be deleted and can no longer be migrated. The PDFs will remain in Drive.

Adobe Express live in Glow @Dom_Traynor

As you may know, Adobe Express is now available via Glow. Just click on the tile in the Renfrewshire LaunchPad to access it.

This Autumn term, there is a full schedule of Adobe Express Live Lessons which your class can join in. Aimed at 8-13 year olds, your pupils will learn how to use Adobe Express to create digital media on important dates in the school calendar. Each lesson is 75 minutes long but there’s a natural break right in the middle if you need to head off early.
