Wet Weather Arrangements

During inclement weather 5 bells are rung if it is too wet/cold for Primary 1-3 to go outside.  Primary 4 – 7 pupils are allowed to choose to go out or stay in.  Pupils may only go out in inclement weather if they are properly dressed with jackets or coats with hoods or hats, sturdy weather proof shoes or wellingtons.   Staff will have the final say on whether pupils stay in or go out.  6 bells will ring if I consider the weather is too bad or dangerous eg if conditions are icy and no pupils will be allowed outside.

Inclement Weather

Unfortunately at Bridge of Weir Primary we have no before or after school care provision. In inclement weather we do our best to provide a safe and dry place for all children.  This can only be provided when staff are available to supervise the children, usually about 8.45 a.m.  Five bells will be rung to signal to children to come in.  There are a number of childminders/care providers in the village. Appropriate phone numbers for parents to contact can be obtained from the school office.

Emergency Information

As we move into Autumn and then Winter may I remind parents that we have a Whole School News information page  on our website and that this will be updated in the event of poor weather conditions. This will also be used for other school event information such as delayed buses, sports day etc.
