Burns Assembly 2018
This year’s Burns Assembly was another big success. Our three judges – Mr Bradford, Mr Wilson and Mr McNellis had a really hard time choosing our worthy winners. We had Ruby from P3H who recited The Skippin Sang by J K Annand, Myla from P5S who performed A Dug A Dug by Bill Keyes and Finlay from P7H who entertained us with Address to a Haggis by Robert Burns.
Our other performers who all presented their poems with great enthusiasm were:
Leia P1F, Summer P1E, Holly P1C, Caitlin P1S, Eilidh P1P, Sophie P1N, Isla P2C, Ryan P2B, Isla P2R, Eilidh P3S, Tommy P4M, Abby P4C, Amy P5/4, Kaia P5D, Jack P6G, Maia P7S and Charlotte P7H.
We would also like to congratulate Max fromP5/4 who couldn’t make the assembly.
As always we had some excellent entertainment from some of our other talented pupils. This helped to make our exciting afternoon even more fun.
Thank you to all our wonderful artistes and well done to our quality audience for once again giving Bishopton’s Best and doing us proud.
Arts and Crafts Masterclass P5-7
During this weeks masterclass we looked at designs by Charles Rennie McIntosh and created our own designs. The boys and girls had lots of fun looking at the different techniques which Charles Rennie McIntosh used to create his artwork. 👩🎨👨🎨🎨
Junior Soccer Sevens
Bishopton Blue and Bishopton Red attended the Junior Soccer Sevens Tournament at Ferguslie Sport Centre. We managed to have 18 boys and girls play in some exciting matches. It was a brilliant event with the pupils playing against a variety of teams. The teams were a mix of some Primary 4, 5 and 6’s which is great for the school football team for the years to come. It was also great to see supporters down cheering the teams on.
Over the last three weeks we have had over 40 pupils represent the school at Badminton, the Soccer Sevens and the Junior Soccer Sevens.
Go Team Bishopton!!!!
Soccer Sevens
The senior school teams competed in the Soccer Sevens last Friday and put in some impressive performances. Both Team Red and Team Blue were very unlucky not to qualify for the regionals despite some great football and winning most of their games.

Walk to School 22/11/17
As this week is Road Safety Week, we thought we would dress just like the mascot of Brake, the Road Safety Charity. We look forward to seeing your stripy items!
Remember you still need to wear school uniform, the stripy item is an accessory.
See you on Wednesday!

School Football Team Update
The football team played against Barsail Primary on Wednesday in a very close encounter. Both teams played some nice passing football and we were very unlucky to not be ahead at half time. The game was played in great spirit but we sadly couldn’t score the vital goal.
Well done to Barsail and to everyone who played.
Children in Need Thursday 16th November
Good evening everyone!
Just a little reminder that this Thursday, Bishopton will be raising money for Children in Need. All children are invited to wear spotty clothing to school and take part in fundraising activities. If your child does not own spotty clothes they are welcome to wear something else! Throughout the day, the children will visit the gym hall for a spotty disco and will have the chance to purchase from the bake sale. The infant classes (P1-3) can take part in a ‘design an outfit for Pudsey’ and have the chance to win their own Pudsey bear!
Suggested donations for dressing up are £1 and 10p-20p for a cake from the bake sale. If any children from P4 to P7 are able to donate baked goods (without nuts please!) towards the bake sale that would be fantastic!
We are looking forward to raising money for such a great cause. Thank you in advance.

School Football Team Update
Well done to the football team who once again done the school proud. They put in a strong performance against a resilient Inchinnan side. The game was played in tough conditions and Inchinnan were not helped by an injury at a key moment in the game. We hope their player is okay and wish them all the best for the rest of the campaign.
Next up is a very tough game against Barsail Primary.
Remembrance Day Poppies
Poppies will be available from Monday 6th November until Friday 10th November. If you wish your child to make a donation and receive a poppy, please ensure that they have their donation separately from their snack/lunch money.
