Our schools and nurseries will close until further notice from the end of the school day on Friday, following Scottish Government guidance.
We’re writing to parents/carers to outline the next steps as best we can and will provide regular updates as the national guidance becomes clearer. This is an unprecedented situation and we understand the concern this causes.
There will be no exams for the remainder of the school year, as per Scottish Government advice, but pupils will be supported to complete their required coursework and online resources will be made available for all pupils to ensure learning can continue.
A small number of primary and secondary schools will remain open in a childcare setting for those most in need, including children of essential workers, with social distancing measures in place – we will confirm these schools as soon as possible.
Please be patient with us as we work to make the necessary arrangements during this unprecedented situation.
For fuller information regarding school closures, details of essential workers and a list of FAQs, please visit http://orlo.uk/Schools_and_nurseries_information_dPn0H.
This list is our first phase and we will extend this further if possible.
We are writing directly to all parents and carers to identify who this applies to and the level of interest.
If the list of essential workers applies to you, please fill the out this form via

In response to reducing risk in relations to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we will have to cancel the World of Work week (Monday 30th March to Thursday 2nd April).
Thank you so much to the parents who volunteered to come in to school to talk about their jobs and skills. We will hopefully get a chance to reschedule in the future.
Kind regards,
Karen McDowall, Principal Teacher
Please see attached letter regarding school trips and school events in light of the COVID -19 situation.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
Thank you for your continued support.

We have had a fantastic week for British Science Week!
Primary 3 have been building their own musical instruments, learning about sound and vibrations.
Primary 1 have been reading The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark and teamed up with their Primary 7 buddies to investigate what owls eat. They dissected owl pellets and found lots of interesting bones!
Primary 2 were learning about electricity during freeflow and tried to make the bulb glow. They also learned about palm oil as part of their rainforest topic and how palm oil is used in lots of things at home. On Thursday, they did an experiment to see how germs spread and how we can get rid of them.
We had a fantastic week being scientists!
We hope you had a fantastic week discovering, investigating and enquiring!
Miss Grant

Well done to our Stars of the week!
The government has announced that the response to coronavirus is moving from ‘Contain’ to ‘Delay’. The advice right now is that schools and nurseries will remain open.
We are continuing to follow national guidance and our school remains open with business as usual. If this changes, we will inform you as soon as possible.
Please follow the council on Twitter @RenCouncil or visit www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/coronavirus for the latest updates. For health advice, visit www.nhsinform.scot/coronavirus.

This week is British Science Week. We will be completing exciting science activities in class. Keep an eye out towards the end of the week to find out what we have been up to!
In the meantime, here are some fun science activities to do at home! See if you can figure out the science behind it. Please tag @STEM_Ren if you post anything on twitter.

Well done to our Stars of the Week!
What a great turnout for our Cross Country Practice yesterday. Here are some pictures of the event down on our running track.

The football team maintained their impressive form in a tough end to end game against St John Bosco. The team all worked together to score some great goals. Thank you to the referees who come to officiate during their lunchtime at Park Mains and to our supporters who cheered us on. Our final fixture of the season will be against our friends at Barsail Primary.
