Last day in P2H
Good afternoon,
Well what a great last day we had in P2H! We have had a wonderful year and I am very grateful for all of the support which you all have given over the school year. This support has been evident in each and every great achievement your child has made in Primary 2. Thank you very much for all of your cards filled with lovely words and the generous gifts which I have received. I will cherish my time in Primary 2H this year, and I look forward to seeing all of the children continuing to learn and grow as they progress into Primary 3.
Have a fantastic summer!
Thanks again,
Miss Hamilton
Week Beginning 19/06/17
Good evening!
I hope you all had a restful weekend and have been enjoying the sunshine tonight. Children do not have homework this week unless they are still to complete their factfile. We heard many of the talks today and they were fantastic! It is clear how much time and effort went in to preparing these talks and I look forward to hearing more of them throughout the week.
Due to the fact children do not have homework this week, today’s letters are in school bags.
Thank you to everyone who brought their summer clothes in today for the end of year assembly. Can I ask that anyone who has not brought their clothes in brings these tomorrow in a bag. Children will be taking completed work home later this week. It would be handy if everyone could bring a plastic bag in to take the work home with them.
I look forward to celebrating our learning in P2H with many of you at the end of year assembly.
Have a great week!

Week Beginning 22.05.17
We had such a busy afternoon in Primary 2H. The children worked in their topic groups to create a habitat which they had researched. We have Ocean, Desert, Arctic and Rainforest habitats. They all look fantastic!
Due to the short week and Sports Day, there will be no official homework this week. Homework will be issued as normal on the Tuesday after the long weekend.
I look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow!

Trainers for Sports Day Trials
Hello
I hope you have all been enjoying the lovely sunshine! Tomorrow morning we will be outside on the field for sports day trials. If children who do not normally wear trainers for gym could bring a pair, that would be great.
See you tomorrow,
Miss Hamilton
Maths Homework
Today children were issued with a maths homework grid of a similar format to their Wednesday spelling grid. Children will complete one activity per week and tick them off as they are completed. These activities reinforce the areas which we have focussed on throughout the school year and are aimed to provide the children with more active activities, which they can do around their home.
Have a lovely day!

P2H enjoyed their first Rookie Rockstars session today and we are looking forward to learning new songs tomorrow. We were also treated to a dance performance during our Show and Tell time. Well done to the girls who have completed their dance exams and are now practising for their show.
We have our usual homework tasks to complete this week. Our new spelling sound is ‘ay’ and we did a lot of work on this last week. As some of the children don’t have a spelling grid at the back of their new jotter, I will issue another copy of these tomorrow morning.
I hope you all have a great week.

Welcome back!
Good afternoon,
I hope you all had a lovely Easter holiday! We had a great first day back in class today and the children were excited to write all about their break during our Big Writing.
Reading books for this week were given today as well as bookbags. There will be no spelling homework this week, as we completed our Term 3 revision before the holiday. We will be learning our new sound this week in class and spelling homework will be issued on Monday.
There will be no official Maths homework this week; however, the children can practise their Numeracy skills on the Top Marks website or Sumdog. If you do not have a note of your child’s Sumdog password from the back of their previous diary, please let me know as I can give out another copy.
We will have our Read and Much session on a Wednesday throughout Term 4. Children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack, and to read a book of their choice from home or our class library.
Show and Tell days will continue as follows:
Monday- The Seven Dwarfs
Tuesday- Jack and the Beanstalk
Wednesday- Pinocchio
Thursday- Peter Pan
Friday- Gingerbread Man
We will be changing our group names soon with our new topic; however, the days will remain the same for each group.
I look forward to continuing to work with you in supporting your child’s progress throughout the term ahead.
Have a lovely evening

Charity Donations
Good afternoon,
Thank you to everyone who gave a toy to myself, Miss Grant, or Miss Frew last week! With a little help from the boys and girls in my class, we packed the final lot to be taken to the charity shop. Cancer Research were very grateful for all of your kind donations.
I hope you all have a lovely Easter break!

Good afternoon,
There will be no set homework this week for P2H. The children can enjoy the sunshine and practise what they have been learning in Literacy and Maths on the following websites if they wish:
www.ictgames.com/resources.html
www.topmarks.co.uk
Can I ask that any library books which have not yet been returned are brought into class this week. I will return any books which the children have finished reading and request books to be reissued if they are not finished.
As book bags were not given out today, the children have brought old work home from their trays in their school bags. Therefore, each child was given a clear pouch to put their letters in today, in order to make these easy to find.
As a reward for winning the most house points, the Eagles will have a non-uniform day on Friday.
I look forward to meeting with many of you on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
Have a lovely week.
