Engineering Competition Success

Pupils from both Primary 2 and Primary 6 have been participating in Primary Engineer events throughout the year, with both classes learning how to build a moving vehicle. Primary 2 built a moving car and Primary 6 an electric vehicle. The children thoroughly enjoyed these lessons and today a small group of pupils from both classes attended a celebration event to meet with pupils from other schools and test their cars in a competition.

Our Primary 6 vehicle drivers did a super job climbing up the test ramp and also spoke with great confidence about how they created their design. Although they did not place in the final 2, they flew the flag high for the talents of Primary 6!

The vehicle designed and built by our Primary 2 team was the winner in the Apprentice 1 category. Pupils did a fantastic job explaining the details of their car design and enjoyed testing their vehicle on the ramp!  The pupils will now go forward and represent the school at the upcoming finals.

A huge well done to our representatives today and to the rest of our future engineers. You should all be very proud of yourselves, your can-do attitude and the fabulous vehicles you created!
