Good afternoon everyone! It’s that time of the week again. Please keep reading for a rundown of your homework and reminders for this week.
Spelling: Units 28 and 35 should be completed for Friday. As always, each word should be written out three times and an uplevelled sentence should be written for each spelling rule word. Please remember to consider your VCOP in each sentence. This week we will be focusing on using more ambitious vocabulary in each sentence again. Please ensure you are including more ambitious vocabulary in your sentences.
Reading: Last week you chose a new core reader for reading at home. Please complete the book for Thursday 2nd March. There will be no written homework for this as all tasks will be completed in class. As always, if there is any vocabulary you are unsure of, please take a note of it and we will discuss it in class on Thursday.
Personal Reading Challenge: We now have 5 weeks of reading left. You have set yourself a personal target based on the number of books read last term and the aim is to reach it (or beat it!) before the end of term. Please remember to bring your book to school as this will allow you to read it during our ERIC sessions.
Please remember to record the books in your reading passport as you finish them. The passport is kept in class.
Listening & Talking: This week you have a solo presentation to present. On Tuesday you will be presenting your presentation to the class. Please click here to see the task sheet with all of the details required. If you require a paper copy of the task sheet, please ask.
All PowerPoints should now have been sent to me to check that they will open on the class computer.
Maths: Please complete the word problems for your group by Friday. I have linked some of the questions to our Fractions topic therefore you should think carefully as to which operation would be best used in these calculations. All workings should be shown and a sentence answer should be given for each question. Please use the links below to access your questions.
Please keep up the high standard of work.
Please remember you may access the Multiplication and Division Trainer for extra practice if you wish. You can access the links below.
- P.E. is on Tuesday and Friday . If you have not already done so, please ensure you have a P.E. kit in school.
- Please remember if anyone at home is (or has been) linked to the River Clyde in any way through work, we would love to hear from them. Please click here for further information.
- Consent forms and money for our trip to the City Halls for the Ten Piece concert should be returned as soon as possible.
- On Wednesday we have our trip to the City Halls. A packed lunch should be brought in a carrier bag and school uniform should be worn. No money is required for this trip.
- World Book Day is on Thursday. All money raised for your readathon should be brought to school on this day. You may also wear your PJs/onsie to school or dress up as a character from your favourite book. A £1 donation is suggested for doing so. If you are not taking part in the dressing up, school uniform should be worn.
- Remember we will have our Read & Munch with P2/1 on Thursday so please bring in your personal reader or favourite book to read to them. You may also bring in a piece of fruit/vegetable to munch on while reading.
See you all tomorrow.
