Good afternoon everyone! It’s that time of the week again. We have a short week ahead (In-service for you on Friday). Please keep reading for a rundown of your homework and reminders for the coming week.
Spelling: List 26 or 33 should be completed for Thursday. Please copy each word out 3 times in your spelling jotter. Detailed sentences for your 6 spelling rule words should be completed also. Please remember to include ambitious VCOP. This week I will be looking for interesting vocabulary being used.
Reading: Please read chapters 12 and 13 of our class novel: The Borrowers. There is no written homework to be completed for this as it will be done in class. However, please remember if you do not complete the reading you will be unable to participate in the class lesson. All reading should be completed for Wednesday 8th.
As discussed in class, if you come across any vocabulary that you are unsure of the definition, please use a dictionary to find this out. You may also take a note of it in your Book Detectives jotter (remember to take a note of the page number) and we can discuss it in class.
Personal Reading Challenge: We now have 8 weeks of reading left. You have set yourself a personal target based on the number of books read last term and the aim is to reach it (or beat it!) before the end of term. Please remember to bring your book to school as this will allow you to read it during our ERIC sessions.
Please remember to record the books in your reading passport as you finish them. The passport is kept in class.
Listening & Talking: This term you have a solo presentation to complete. You have 3 weeks to plan, organise and prepare your presentation as you will be presenting in class on Tuesday 28th February. Please click here to see the task sheet with all of the details required. If you require a paper copy of the task sheet, please ask.
Maths: Since it is a short week this week (and to allow you to concentrate on your reading) there will be no maths homework this week.
Please remember you may access the Multiplication and Division Trainer for extra practice if you wish. You can access the links below.
- P.E. is on Tuesday . If you have not already done so, please ensure you have a P.E. kit in school.
