The children in P6 have been really enjoying reading and have been inspired by the choice of books available to them through the First Minister’s Challenge.

Each child has been given a slip in their diary today which shows their engaged minutes, number of quizzes passed, average percentage and number of points earned.

The children are given silent reading time in class each day and are expected to complete reading at home at least 2 nights a week. As such we are looking for their engaged minutes to be over 15 minutes per day. These results are all the way from October to February and are counted over the holidays too.

The number of points earned will vary with the difficulty of the book, some books give the child 5 points, while others may allocate over 100!
