Thoughts and Worries

A girl came back from school
one evening
tired with worries
in her head.

She dumps her bag
heavy and sad on the sofa
and takes out the things
inside.

First her homework
slams it down on the table
the echoes in her head.

She tries to concentrate
but voices go round and round
in her head.

People playing shouting
and the arguing of the
day.

So she takes that out
and puts it on the sofa.

The smell of her desk
her jumper
her friends.

then she remembers
feeling the crinkles in her jotter
where she got frustrated with the work
and the coldness of the day.

She thought so much
her head started to hurt.

So then she sat down
on the sofa
closed her eyes
and all those thoughts
came out of her head
and she put them down on the sofa.
