Every New Day

A boy filled with excitement for every new day,
places his adventurist book on the table,
grabs his jacket and hangs it up
against the door.

He grabs his bag and empties all the tasty sweets, chocolate and banana milkshakes out, and eats them right away.
He sits down on his springy bed
and starts to get tired from his long day at school.

He then smells the tasty and delicious, cheese pizza,
he smiles with delight.
But then he smells another strong smell
of mushrooms, which he hates.

Just then he hears a loud BANG of thunder,
it sounds like the thunderstorm he witnessed at school.
So after this long, hard day Alex lays down, and tries to get to sleep,
as outside the thunder is still roaring, as loud as ever.

Alex tries to go to sleep,
to end this horrible day,
with the thunder still
roaring outside.

His dogs Susie, a Chihuahua crossed with a sausage dog,
and his collie Rubie,
run up to him and hugged him.
As they lay down next to him, Alex finally realised there’s no place like home.

And now he is asleep,
but I can tell you he’ll be up at like 5 am
and be playing his PlayStation
while raging – trust me I know him too well.
