DURING A STORM

 

I want Speed.

 

I want to be as fast as a cheetah,

To be as fast as a machine putting wrappers on food in a factory,

To be as fast as the wind during a storm.

Like Usain Bolt during a race,

Like a Footballer sprinting across the pitch to score a goal,

Like a lion pouncing on its prey.

 

I want Speed

 

I want to be as fast as a cat running away from a dog,

To be as fast as a dog chasing a cat,

To be as fast as rain pounding down on the ground during a storm.

Like a child running as fast as they can to win a race,

Like a bird catching a fish,

Like time flying by when I’m having fun

 

I want Speed.
