A Little Clarity

A boy, filled with the worry of a new school, dumped his bag on the floor.
His bag filled with lunch, juice, jackets and jumpers.

He dropped the wet from outside, on the floor
He dropped the tension from the test, on the floor
He dropped the sound of ticks, and crosses, on the floor

He grabbed the rays of sun, before the rain flushed it away, and dropped it on the floor.

The boy rummaged around the bag to see if there was anything left.
He found a little clarity, and he didn’t  drop this on the floor, for this was too precious the drop, so he clutched it tight and felt all of his worries, regrets and sadness fall out of his body, on the floor.

  1. I really like the line when you say tension of the test and the wet outside, and I like how you use rhythm and repetition.
