New Ways November 2020 – Action for Happiness

This months calendar – available in different languages – gives some ideas to try out new thing each day.  This might help us manage the ongoing Covid 19 restrictions and challenges in our lives.

The calendar maintains that “Covid is restricting our lives, but we can find new ways to keep making progress. Trying out new things can actually boost our well-being. When we open up to new ideas, it helps us stay curious and engaged. It can also bring a sense of accomplishment and help to boost our self-confidence and resilience. There are so many ways to learn new things and this month we’re encouraging everyone to find new and creative ways to overcome our frustrating situations.”

Much Language Such Talk (MLST) is a new podcast talking about bi- and multilingualism and what it means to speak more than one language. They will explore the benefits, the advantages, the struggles of bilingualism, what it entails, and what it means in the daily life of people who speak, know, and study more than one language.

They address topics such as language change, how we learn languages at different ages, bilingualism and language disorders, language identity and culture, minority languages, language policies, language education and more.

Refugee Week 15th – 20th June 2020

Refugee Week 2020 is a celebration of the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees. Founded in 1998 and held every year around World Refugee Day on the 20 June.

This website has various ideas to contribute to and take part in celebrations this week.  The Children and Young People’s Section has some good ideas for schools, teachers and pupils.
