P1/2/3 made marvellous Easter bonnets and brought them into class!
They also learned the Easter story, decorated eggs and went on an egg hunt in the park to practise their addition skills.

Having Fun in the Snow
Snow is here! Working together trying to build an igloo!
Deep Sea World
Today we visited Deep Sea World.
First of all we saw frogs and lizards from the Rain Forest.
Next we met Sam who talked about litter in the sea and how it damages sea life. She also had a rock pool and taught us about spider crabs, hermit crabs, Â sea urchins, anemones and starfish. We were able to touch these too.
After that we went outside and saw the seals being fed fish.
Next of all we went into the centre and saw all different types of fish including piranha, sharks and rays. We had a great time going round the tunnel and seeing the sharks swimming all around us!
We had lunch and visited the shop too. Unfortunately it was time to go home.
A big thank you to Hazel who came along and was our helper!
Pot B of our Potatoes
Look how big our potatoes are growing and these are not even the main crop.
Will we win this year P1/2/3?
You never know, judging by these potatoes!
When Nursery Came to our Class
On the Transition Days, Nursery became P1 and P3 moved up to Mrs Ross’s class.
Here are some of the activities they were doing.
Den Building
This week we were up in the forest and were building dens.
We all had to work together in our groups to build a solid den in which one or more people could fit into.
One group was very creative and made a garden path and a fire exit with their den.
Thank you very much to Mrs Howie and Mrs Black who came along and helped us build our dens!
Forest Schools
Today we stayed in the ark and made hot chocolate with kellie kettles.
First we had to collect very small dry sticks in the park, then we used these to make a small fire in the bottom of the kellie kettles.
This boiled the water, which was used then for the hot chocolate.
Earthing Up Potatoes
We had to earth up our potatoes. We do this to protect them from frost.
They had grown over 20cm since the last time we measured them!
Growing Potatoes
Over the next few months, P1/2/3 will be growing potatoes.Â
Miriam Doe came and taught us about growing potatoes and then helped us to plant them.
We have three bags to observe and measure over the next couple of months.
We are entering a competition to see who can grow the heaviest amount of potatoes too.
