As this week is Woodland’s STEM week we are focusing on science, technology, engineering and maths in class.

Reading books this week are Non-fiction with a STEM focus.  Children reading the Hen Who Wouldn’t Give Up will continue with it next week and will also be given a non-fiction book this week.

Explore the features of non fiction books and choose parts to read.

REMEMBER

Scottish Sumdog competition is this week

We created posters for the Road Safety Calendar Competition.

We used the computers to search for images of Cumbernauld. We copied and pasted them into a document, then we printed them out. This afternoon we used our images to create posters about Cumbernauld.

This morning we wrote a recount about the Road Safety Magic Show we watched yesterday. We used when, where, who, what, why and how questions to help us plan our writing.

Spelling/ Sounds – continued from last week ways to make E sound – ey, ee, ea and e_e.

Reminder

From Thursday children can come to school wearing plain jogger bottoms, polo shirt and trainers for PE and keep this on all day.

This is to ensure children get maximum time with the sports coach.

This is only for our Thursday PE day on Monday children can change into gym kit in class as usual.

We had great fun reading with our buddies this morning.

Today we wrote a story called ‘The Monster Beyond the Garden’ we used wow words to improve our writing. We shared our stories with each other and identified the wow words used.

We were using Google Maps in ICT to explore our community.

This morning we had fun playing and learning in the learning zone.

Well done to all the children who have brought homework in to be checked.
