Shared Reading

This week our shared reading text on Bug Club is Opposites Attract.  You can listen or read the book by logging in to your Active Learn account.

Dot and Tod are both magnets, and they like collecting things, but they do not like each other at all! One day, Dot and Tod spot something they both want to collect, and realise they have something in common. Dot and Tod become friends. This book introduces the concept of magnetism. It also deals with the themes of friendship between people who are different, and realising we have more in common than we may think.

Homework

This week our shared reading text is Lost in the Storm by Karl Newson, illustrated by Michael Emmerson.  Login to Active Learn to listen to or read the story.

Smokey the dragon loves adventures, but one night she finds herself lost in a storm and plunges into the sea. She is saved by a kindly whale who takes her to the beach, but her wet wings prevent her from flying. In a cave behind a waterfall she meets an island boy who helps her dry her wings by the fire, gives her positive encouragement, and shows her the way back to her mountain. Smokey flies home only to encounter another storm – but this time proves that she can weather it and conquer her fears
Remember Sumdog can continue to be used to practise maths and literacy skills.

Extra – At our online assembly last week Miss Ferguson spoke about the homework she has set.  Use the hand print that has been sent home and write or draw on it qualities that describe yourself.
