I’m not sure that I’ve shown much maths on this blog, but we do maths every day! 😊 We have now moved on from place value to focus on addition and subtraction, and we are revising and learning about time on Mondays 🕰
This weeks homework is on teams, Sumdog homework challenges are aimed at the work we’ve been in class and are very good for revising. Top marks Hit the Button game can also be really useful when practising addition and subtraction 😊
Today we learned that the rainforest homes of tribe families that we created are being destroyed for deforestation. Primary 5 were then split into sides of the deforestation debate- loggers, farmers, environmentalists and indigenous tribes. We researched and planned our arguments today and will start debating next week
The sun came out for today’s outdoor pe, everybody got really involved with rugby and there were lots of tired out legs!
As we have been learning about endangered animals, we decided to adopt an animal that needs lots of help. P5 voted to adopt a polar bear and named it Vanilla 😊
This afternoon we had some good discussions about how we can help if someone is being bullied and promote anti-bullying. Together we made our united against bullying jigsaw 💕
Primary 5 have been keeping up with the election news on newsround and have been very interested in the Presidential election, sharing opinions. Some pupils even wrote newsround notes and made a poster at lunch time, we are very happen to see the progress being made with the first female Vice President 😊 🇺🇸
This afternoon Primary 5 learned about the artist Henri Rousseau and drew some rainforest scenes inspired by his paintings. These drawings created some beautiful borders for our topic wall 🙂
Have a great weekend! (ps. remember your homework is due Sunday night!)
This morning we were defining words related to bonfire night using dictionaries. After maths and PE, we learned more about staying safe on bonfire night and took part in a quiz 😊
