Space research and group posters 🌏🚀🌑☀️

Today, in ICT, we were researching a chosen planet, moon or the sun and finding as many facts as we could. We were practising our skills of copying and pasting pictures of the planets on to Word and printing them. We then started to create our poster in our pairs demonstrating good talking and listening, communicating and compromising skills. Miss Park can’t  wait to see the finished products and presentations on Friday.

Nativity And Homework!

P5 & 6 have until Wednesday to bring in their clothing for the nativity. This is black bottoms: trousers, skirt and tights, leggings or jeans. The dress rehearsal is this Wednesday.

There is still another week for the Christmas homework grid. The homework and grid will be collected next Monday, signed and dated please and this will be rewarded with dojo’s and house points. The maths challenge is still ongoing, also for dojo’s and will be awarded Monday morning.

Christmas parties are next Monday, children if possible should bring in some sweets, crisps or juice to share a story a class.

Christmas Stories 🎅 ⛄️ ❄️

Carrying on from our writing lesson last week, we are creating a detailed plan for each other to follow to be able to continue each other’s stories more to the authors ideas. We are including a character description, a labelled map of the setting and a summary of the beginning, middle and end.

We can’t wait to see thsee results and compare the quality of stories compared to last week without a plan or guide to follow.

Busy Bees

Yesterday, after a hard working day of reading more of our group novels and singing our hearts out practising for the nativity and working hard in nativity cast practise and ICT, we decided to put up our tree in our Christmas spirit. It looks great! We also challenged ourself on the next stage of power lines, using our problem solving skills to solve addition problems.

House points will be awarded on the 17th for how many activities have been completed and signed by this date.

( 2 pieces = 10 house points, 4 pieces = 20 house points and all 6 activities completed= 50 house points)

P5/6 also have a competition set on Sumdog over the next two weeks related to their maths (some revision of place value and some currrent addition and subtraction).

There is also the addition of a challenge on Sumdog for this week to practise reading (trial). Miss Park would love to hear your feedback about the reading! Pupils will be given time on Wednesday to try both of these.

Friday 📚💛👭👬 and Monday 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💪🏻

On Friday afternoon, we enjoyed spending more time with our reading buddies in P2/3. We listened to them read their reading book, both read a librar book and asked questions about the story.

Today, we had PE and were practising our celidh partner dancing and next week will learn some group celidh dances. 💃

We participated in some drama to the theme of Jack and the beanstalk and played some games. We also learned some more yoga positions 🧘‍♀️ 🧘‍♂️ and finished with some whole class games.
