P5/6 competed their 8 HIIT exercises trying to beat their previous score of âHow many in 1 minute?â They all done an amazing job! đWe focussed today on counting our resting pulse rate and working pulse rate and discussed why these are different. We also completed a 15 minute HIIT workout to see how our trainees should be after we each participate in carrying out our own HIIT programmes which we planned with our partners. We are all ready for the challenge next week đŞ â.
In literacy, we read Chapter 10 of The Ice Monster and focussed on taking notes of examples of onomatopoeia and good vocabulary, WOW words used. We canât wait to create some of our own and use within our story writing.
Primary 5/6 are using scratch to program a sprite. They need to select a sprite and a background. Then they need to create a block code to make their sprite move and rotate. They were challenged to program speech, sound and a costume change to show an animation.
P5/6 continued to attempt to beat our scores of how many of each exercise we can complete in our 1 minute challenges. We were fabulous đââď¸đââď¸đŞđť. We also began our fitness training programmes which we created in our pairs which had to last 15 minutes including work and rest timings.
P5/6 finished off a hard working day with some shortbread and Irn bro listening to Scottish music after learning all about Robert Burns đđ´ó §ó ˘ó łó Łó ´ó ż
Today, P 5/6 had lots of happy helpers in this morning to support our learning. We were measuring in cm and m using rulers, measuring tapes and metre sticks. We were measuring ourselves, around our heads, arms, our height as well as the length of the classroom and corridor. Huge thank you to our parent helpers đđ. We also had P2/3 join us for reading buddies and we had 3 super partnerships who got house points!
P5/6 have been continuing creating their moon PowerPoint presentations using the facts they have researched and learned about. We canât wait to present them to them to the class.
In P.E we were continuing our fitness circuits trying to beat our previous score.
P5/6 have worked so hard this week đ. We presented our information posters about our chosen planets/ moon or sun and provided the class with lots of interesting facts.
In P.E we have started our fitness block linked to our Health topic about the importance and benefits of eating in moderation and exercising. Â We started our posters about exercise today, they are looking great so far đđź. We also took part in P6/7âs fitness lesson this week and they were our instructors, they worked us hard and we learned about the importance of never giving up!
We have started  designing our front covers and blurbs for our books we are creating and they look amazing! We canât wait to start writing them.
We also had reading buddies this week with P2/3 and we focussed on finding WOW words, it was good fun, we found lots! P5/6 were very impressed with P2/3 đđ¤Š.
Today, P5/6 practised their numbers in French from 20-50 by singing a catchy song and playing Kahoot in pairs.
We also had reading buddies with P2/3 which was great fun,helping them read their reading books and ask them questions. Next week we are focussing on WOW words!
P5/6 were creating their SPACE story characters. We designed and described them as part of our plan and chose our story location/ setting and created a map. We also had lots of discussion with each other to make suggestions and ask questions to get each other to think more about/ change/ adapt or add to our own ideas.
Next week we will design our front cover and title.
