Halloween Creativity!

Last week, we were learning to blend and fade colours together to make a colourful Halloween picture. We were using our cutting skills to create Halloween pictures.

In ICT we were practising our finger placements and touch typing to type up our individual Halloween stories to create and publishΒ our class Halloween book.

Halloween Poems πŸ‘€πŸŽƒπŸ•·οΈ

Yesterday we were writing our Halloween poems. We had the option of either a rhyme, haiku or acrostic poems.

A rhyme is a multi stanza poem that rhymes. A haiku is a three-lined poem where each line has a different amount of syllables. The first line has 5, the second has 7, and the third has 5. An acrostic poem goes down. E.g.

Spooked

Creepy

A lot of decorations

Running in fear

You may be scarred

P5/6 are back πŸ˜ƒ

Apologies for the delay of our class blog, we are up and running now!

starting Monday, the children of P5/6 will become our bloggers, blogging their learning each day.

Below is a brief summary of what we have been learning so far!

We have been super busy this year from expressing our emotions through colour, being competitive and determined to beat our daily mile number of laps to improve our fitness, we have been creating fabulous narrative stories and getting treated to a 5 star Service of a baked potato and coleslaw from P6/7 and Mr McMullan. We have also been working on our fitness and participated in Joe Wicks challenge for schools, helped the P1&2’s with Sumdog, problem solving how to create pyramids with only 2 types of itemsΒ and creating information posters about Ancient Egyptian Pharoahs.Β

P5/6 have been completing 15 minutes after lunch every day personal reading. We have been discussing what interests us from a book cover and blurb and that it isn’t okay to begin a book and not enjoy it and choose a different one. We have been sharing the story lines of our books and our opinions to encourage others to try the books we are enjoying.

We have been focusing on place value in maths and working with 4-7 digits to read, write, order, partition and round.

In literacy, we have been reading our class novel for Big Reading. We have been taking turns to read aloud in class and have been completing work related to it.
