Today, P 5/6 had lots of happy helpers in this morning to support our learning. We were measuring in cm and m using rulers, measuring tapes and metre sticks. We were measuring ourselves, around our heads, arms, our height as well as the length of the classroom and corridor. Huge thank you to our parent helpers 😀🌟. We also had P2/3 join us for reading buddies and we had 3 super partnerships who got house points!

P5/6 have been continuing creating their moon PowerPoint presentations using the facts they have researched and learned about. We can’t wait to present them to them to the class.

In P.E we were continuing our fitness circuits trying to beat our previous score.

P5/6 have worked so hard this week 😀. We presented our information posters about our chosen planets/ moon or sun and provided the class with lots of interesting facts.

In P.E we have started our fitness block linked to our Health topic about the importance and benefits of eating in moderation and exercising.  We started our posters about exercise today, they are looking great so far 👍🏼. We also took part in P6/7’s fitness lesson this week and they were our instructors, they worked us hard and we learned about the importance of never giving up!

We have started  designing our front covers and blurbs for our books we are creating and they look amazing! We can’t wait to start writing them.

We also had reading buddies this week with P2/3 and we focussed on finding WOW words, it was good fun, we found lots! P5/6 were very impressed with P2/3 🌟🤩.

Today, P5/6 practised their numbers in French from 20-50 by singing a catchy song and playing Kahoot in pairs.

We also had reading buddies with P2/3 which was great fun,helping them read their reading books and ask them questions. Next week we are focussing on WOW words!

P5/6 were creating their SPACE story characters. We designed and described them as part of our plan and chose our story location/ setting and created a map. We also had lots of discussion with each other to make suggestions and ask questions to get each other to think more about/ change/ adapt or add to our own ideas.

Next week we will design our front cover and title.

Today, in ICT, we were researching a chosen planet, moon or the sun and finding as many facts as we could. We were practising our skills of copying and pasting pictures of the planets on to Word and printing them. We then started to create our poster in our pairs demonstrating good talking and listening, communicating and compromising skills. Miss Park can’t  wait to see the finished products and presentations on Friday.

Lots of hard work in P5/6 today. We were practising using the formal method to complete addition calculations of 4,5 or 6 digit numbers.

We also started our new class topic of Space and the Solar System, we are learning about the 8 planets and the sun and the moon. We also learned that some planets have over 60 moons!

The last week of school before the Christmas holiday was very busy! We created Egyptian collars using paint and pasta. We. Ade fantastic Thank You cards for people we had a special thanks to and we enjoyed a fun filled Christmas party!

P5 & 6 have until Wednesday to bring in their clothing for the nativity. This is black bottoms: trousers, skirt and tights, leggings or jeans. The dress rehearsal is this Wednesday.

There is still another week for the Christmas homework grid. The homework and grid will be collected next Monday, signed and dated please and this will be rewarded with dojo’s and house points. The maths challenge is still ongoing, also for dojo’s and will be awarded Monday morning.

Christmas parties are next Monday, children if possible should bring in some sweets, crisps or juice to share a story a class.

We then passed round our story starters for each other to follow the plan and character descriptions to continue the story.

We can’t wait to finish them!
