Yesterday we had a visit from our dental health support worker called Susan and she was helping all the boys and girls to brush their teeth in the correct way. Please be aware that the advice is now to NO LONGER rinse your teeth with water after brushing because the toothpaste helps to keep the plaque at bay.
Children were all happy to return to nursery and had a great day playing outdoors, planting potatoes and having fun indoors. Our current theme is Growth, focusing in on their own growth, looking at how plants grow and how to look after babies. For snack we had cereals with milk and fruit. We also have a new member of staff Miss Cunningham who will be here until Mrs Henderson returns.
The boys and girls have had lots of fun learning about how to look after babies in the house and in the water. Children were also playing out in the Learning Zone. Most children got their teeth varnished with fluorides! Sports Relief went very well with children making sports people paper plates.
Yesterday the children performed their Daffodil Tea. They did a marvellous job and everyone really enjoyed it!
Children have been involved in lots of science experiments to create rainbows and mini volcanoes. They were also exploring shapes to begin to understand the concept of fractions! TOMORROW IS OUR DAFFODIL TEA! 10.45am/2.15pm Please note there will be no messy play if children want to wear something special.
This week is Science week in school and we hope to have an experiment each day for children. To start us off we had a class experiment where we looked at what happened when we put some sweets (Mentos) into a bottle of cola. We also mixed ingredients together to make our own dough which we will cook tomorrow. We had yogurts, breadsticks and fruit for snack. Children had a lovely World Book Day last Friday.
PM Children managed to win all the marbles from the teachers and win a surprise for tomorrow.
Nice to see everyone back after the snow days! Today some of the nursery children were playing in the Infant Learning Zone with Primary 1’s.
On Friday children will be able to celebrate World Book Day and can dress up as their favourite book character or wear pyjamas!
