Halloween celebrations!
Children have had lots of fun around the theme of Halloween. They have been practising their writing skills making spell books and writing Halloween stories. They have been developing their fine motor control playing in blue bat infested jelly and have explored their creativity making glittery Halloween pictures.
Making a Jack O’ Lantern
Today children had lots of fun helping to make a Jack O’ Lantern. They had lots of fun dressing up and playing in the Spider Slime!
Snack today was yogurts, breadsticks and fruit. Our song for Halloween is Halloween’ s Coming which you can find in the cloakroom area. Reminder our Halloween Party will be on Tuesday the 31 st. Please don’t dress your child in anything too scary!
Halloween’ s Coming!
Today children were having fun dressing up in Halloween costumes and playing with our Halloween resources such as bats, skeletons and cauldrons! They also enjoyed playing in our Halloween House!
Children going to school this year, had their eye test. For snack we had a choice of cereals.
Another Fun Day at Nursery
Children have had lots of fun playing outdoors, painting with pallet paints, and our new rocket ship. They have been continuing to learn about foods made from milk, numbers and to paractise mark making. Children are getting much better at remembering to follow the snack routine! Children were practising some party games for their Halloween Party. We have also been focusing on keeping safe when outside by holding hands with an adult.
Halloween party Tuesday 31 st October. Next week nursery will be closed for October week.
A Busy Day In Nursery
Our focus for learning is currently looking at foods made from milk, so today children have been helping to make milkshakes for snack. They were yummy! Yesterday they had yogurts for snack and children even made their own butter!
We have also been focusing on farm animals and today children had the opportunity to see and touch a real sheep’ s fleece, a curly horn and to see the farmer’ s crook. It was all very interesting. Children also had lots of fun exploring outdoors and playing indoors with gloop…….it magically melts in your hands and is very runny.
Our rhyme this week is Baa Baa Black Sheep
Stay and Play
It was lovely to see so many parents and carers here for our Stay and Play sessions. The children all did really well!
We’re Back!
The boys and girls have been very busy settling into nursery this term. They have been learning to follow nursery routines like group time, snack time and tidy up time. In the cloakroom you will see our rhyme of the week. Our focus this term is on the book A Squash and a Squeeze by Julia Donaldson which is a rhyming book with a focus on farm animals. We have had a milking station at the water play. At the snack table we are learning about what dairy foods.
Don’t forget tomorrow is our Stay and Play session.
