Micro-Tyco

As part of the “Mirco-Tyco” enterprise project, which is starting on the 1st of February, Primary 5, 5/6, 6/7 and 7 will be designing, printing and selling a newspaper within the school.

Each class will be given £6 to start a business and have one month to grow the business to raise money for charity. The money made will be used to help people in less economically developed countries start their own business.

If you own/run/work in a business or know someone who does, and you would like to take an advert out in our newspaper for a small fee, please get in contact with Mr McCrorie or Myself, or phone the school office.

We expect to sell in excess of 200 copies of the newspaper each week so there is a great opportunity for exposure for your business and a chance to help a very worthwhile charity.
Thank you.

Woodlands Got Talent

The applications are now in and the acts are busy preparing their routines. The auditions will be held in school on Tuesday 26th January. This is one of my favourite events of the year and I can’t wait to see what wonderful routines they have been practising hard to produce! A big thank you to the parents of auditionees for all of your support in getting your child ready for their auditions.

Unicef Kid Power Bands

The Primary 5/6s and Primary 6/7s started their Kid Power project today. They will be wearing a movement tracker to learn more about the importance of staying active and at the same time gaining points to ‘earn food parcels’. Both classes will spend the next four weeks wearing these bands and learning about malnutrition around the world. Keep checking these class’ blogs during these four weeks to keep up to date on their progress!
