Next week we are having a week focused on Careers. Children from all classes from P1 to P7 will have the opportunity to go to talks and activities from a variety of professionals who have kindly given up their time for free to come and speak to the children about their careers.

Please keep checking your child’s class blog next week for information about the different talks they have been having and what they have learned. And remember to ask them all about it at night. It is sure to be a very exciting and interesting week for everyone!

A huge well done to the boys and girls who took part in today’s regional cross country finals. They did an excellent job in difficult conditions and behaved impeccably. They were a real credit to themselves, their families and Woodlands Primary. Well done to them all!

We’d like to say a big thank you to Eddie & Martin from Gist who came to visit Primary 4 and Primary 5 yesterday to deliver their Road Safety Workshop. As you can see it was a very interactive workshop and the children learned a lot of valuable information. We hope other classes may get the chance of a visit in the future!

The Cross Country Finals  take place tomorrow. If you have been selected to represent the school please remember to bring the following things:

1. Sporting clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting (very) muddy

2. A bag to put muddy clothes in

3. Water

4. Small snack

5. Jacket

Starting Monday in our Easter Shop (in the outdoor classroom) we will be selling Make Your Own Easter Nest Kits. The kit will cost £2.50 and can be pre-ordered before Monday by responding to this blog or contacting P6/7.

The kit includes: Corn Flakes, Chocolate, Marshmallows, Chocolate Eggs, Decorations and the cake cases.  The kit will allow you to make 6 nests. The instructions will be given also.

The Shop will be open every playtime and 15 minutes before home time to give parents a chance to see and to buy.

They are a great present for Easter and you can make them at your own leisure. They will definitely get you into the Easter spirit!

As part of our Micro Tyco  we are going to be selling cupcake making kits. With this kit you can make 6 cupcakes. The kit includes 6 egg decoration sticks, 6 marshmallows, 80g of icing sugar, 70g of flour, 70g of caster sugar and 1/2 tsp of baking powder. At home you will need to include 70g  of butter, 1 egg and 1/2 a table spoon of water. We will be taking orders until Friday 19th of February.The kits will be sold for £3.50. (Tissue paper not included)
