This week, pupils should continue with their work on ‘Family’ and should complete any unfinished work that they have not yet submitted.
Return to School
We are delighted to be back in school and working with our young people.
During these three weeks all students will undertake English/Literacy in class with S5/6 having one double period of English on a Monday. Class teachers will set work for the rest of the week. Mrs Burton’s class also have a live lesson on Thursday during periods 3&4.
S4 will have a double period of English per fortnight. Students in classes 4.4-4.6 will be in class this week and students in classes 4.1-4.3 will be in next week. S4 students will be working on the “Sailmaker” past paper from 2014 this week with classes 4.4-4.6 working on this in class and classes 4.1-4.3 preparing this exercise this week and bringing it with them next week.
Classes in the B.G.E. (S1-3) will have one double period per week, all classes in a year group are working on the same thing and class teachers will set work which should be done during the rest of the week.
During this three weeks all Spanish and French will be undertake remotely and pupils should check MS Teams and ensure they complete the tasks set.
Hopefully all of our young people will be back in school full-time from Monday 19th April 2021 and we can move towards some kind of normality !
S3 English
This week pupils will be starting a new Literacy block on Portfolio Writing Skills unit in class, focusing on Personal Reflective/Creative Writing.
For home learning, they should complete tasks 1-3 (slides 7-10) on the ‘Literacy Block’ PowerPoint, in the Literacy Block folder on MS Teams.
S2 English
This week S2 pupils will be developing RAUE skills. They will do a practice paper in class and then they will complete a second practice paper at home, “Cream of the Crop”.
With the exception of 2A, 2B, 2C, who will have one extra period in school, with Modern Languages. They will start the work in school and finish at home.
S1 English
This week S1 pupils are starting a Literacy unit in class. Pupils will complete pages 1-4 of the textbook in class.
For home learning, pupils should work through pages 4-8. There are three short tasks (pages 5, 6 and 8) to be completed for their next lesson where they will have to opportunity to go over the answers with their teacher on their return.
Classes 1D, E, and F all have an additional single period of literacy in Modern Languages. They should complete the tasks on pages 5 and 6 of the textbook in that period and complete the task on page 8 at home.
Higher Spanish
Pupils will be going over some of the home learning tasks in class as well as doing some Talking practice. At home, pupils should complete the first Employability reading task and some work on Directed Writing phrases.
S2 French
Pupils should complete the final task, week 5, of the desert island project.
S2 Spanish
Pupils should work through the writing tasks on slides 94-96 of the ‘En el pueblo’ PowerPoint.
Live Lessons
Please note there is a change to this week’s Live Lesson timetable which was published on the Languages Blog on Sunday. There will not now be a Live Lesson for Mrs Nelson’s Higher English class tomorrow. This lesson was NOT included on the list emailed to parents on Saturday.
