S1 Spanish

S1 have been working hard on the school topic for the past few weeks. Well done to all who completed the quiz from last week – great results!

This week, we are continuing on with the school topic. We are learning to describe our school this week and what it looks like.

Higher Spanish

Higher Spanish pupils have been working on grammar for the past few weeks. Please continue to make your way through this booklet and message your teachers with any questions you have. All materials are on Edmodo and our glow page.

A weekly reading passage is also set for you. Well done to everyone on the reading last week – great scores! The reading for this week is ¿Londres o Edimburgo? and materials are on Edmodo and glow.

S3 Spanish

S3 have been working on healthy lifestyle over the last few weeks. Please make sure you complete the Edmodo quiz by Friday. Well done to everyone on your quiz results from last week – fantastic!

This week we are also introducing personal descriptions, with some different tasks to complete on this topic. Please send your work to your teachers by Friday and message if you have any questions at all! Have a good week!

S2 Spanish

S2 are helping in the house this week! Please take the Edmodo quiz by Friday to check how you are getting on with this topic. Many pupils have taken the quiz already and have done very well!

S2 are also taking part in the Great Spanish Language Challenge this week, which consists of different activities relating to Spanish culture. You should send your research to your teachers by Friday and we look forward to seeing what you have done! Have a good week!

S1 Spanish

This week, S1 are working on telling the time in Spanish. All work can be found on Edmodo and the Modern Languages glow page. There will be an Edmodo quiz at the end of the week to check how you are all getting on!

S1 will also take part in a Disney Spanish Challenge this week, where you will choose a movie to watch, one that you have on DVD, or maybe you have Disney+. You can then do the tasks related to each movie! If you don’t have access to any of the movies you could use youtube to try and find songs from one of the movies in a different language! Please send your work to your teachers by Friday.

S5-6 N5 2021

By now this group should have submitted their Creative Essay for marking.  This essay will be submitted to S.Q.A. in Spring 2021 and will be part of their writing folio.

This group should now start working on the Scottish play “Sailmaker” by Alan Spence.  All students have a copy avaiblale to them although it might be helpful to have a print copy to make notes students develop their knowledge of the play and its characters.

 

Higher English 2021

By now this class should have submitted their Creative essay for marking.  This essay will be part of their writing folio which will be submitted to the S.Q.A in Spring 2021.

This week they should start thinking about their Spoken Presnetation which has to be passed in order to be presented for the exam.  I have posted Talking Milestones 7 & 8 on the website & Edmodo.  Students should work through Milestone 7 this week to refresh the skills and knowledge developed in Milestones 1-6.

Miss MacPhail’s S2 Class

This week this class need to pick a topic and start to research it. 

 

Miss MacPhail has posted a table on her Edmodo which the class should compete and send to her by Monday 18th May.

S3 (Group 2 – N5 2021)

By now this group should have submitted the first draft of their Creative essay for marking.  This will be part of their folio of writing which will be submitted to S.Q.A. in Spring 2021.

This week we are going to start looking at the Scottish Play “Sailmaker” which is one of the Scottish Texts examined in the Critical Reading paper.  Students have a copy of the play available to them, however it might be helpful to have a printed copy to make notes on.
