Higher Spanish

This week pupils are completing the topic of Learning with a Reading and Listening exercise. There will also be a vocabulary quiz posted later in the week to revise the topic as a whole. Pupils have also been advised that they must start to learn their questions for their talking exam, if they haven’t already been doing so.

S4 Spanish

This week pupils are practising their writing skills by writing a letter applying for a job in a cafe in Spain. Pupils will also be completing Listening Exercises.

S3 Spanish

This week pupils will continue to work on Jobs and Future plans. Today’s work consists of looking at a Powerpoint and doing a series of exercises. More work will be posted on Wednesday for everyone, for 3C classes on Thursday and 3D classes on Friday.

S2 Spanish

This week pupils should complete a translation task on slide 71 of the PowerPoint “En el pueblo”. Their second task is a bit of problem solving work. Pupils should complete task 1 of the Places in town, map task worksheet, where they need to use their knowledge of prepositions to locate different places on a map.

Higher English

Ms MacDonald’s class will finish Chapter 8 of Jekyll and Hyde and will begin Chapter 9.

Miss MacPhail’s class are looking at how Robert Louis Stevenson creates tension in Chapter 8 before going on to look at how to structure the 10 mark question. They will be starting work on a summary of Chapter 9 at the end of the week.

Miss Nelson’s class are continuing to work through the tasks on the Jekyll and Hyde PowerPoint.

S5/6 N5 English

This week pupils are continuing work on the short story, ‘The Lighthouse’. Pupils will be developing their analysis skills and focusing on characterisation.

Miss Sullivan’s class can join a tutorial on Monday 15th, periods 6 and 7.

S4 N4 English

This week pupils are continuing to work on their Added Value unit. Full instructions can be found on MS Teams.

S3 English Mr Kedra’s class

Pupils will be completing their persuasive essay by writing paragraph five and six. Pupils will search for information on how knife crime can be dealt with in the near future to support their statements. Finally, they will spend time putting across their personal message to their readers.
