Higher Spanish

This week pupils will complete a “Live Assessment” on Tuesday, as a practice to see how they cope with a reading and writing paper under timed conditions. Pupils will also complete some translation tasks, based on Directed Writing vocabulary and will continue to prepare for their Talking exam.

S4 Spanish

This week pupils should complete past papers to practice their Reading and Dictionary Skills.

S2 French

This week pupils are continuing with the week 4 tasks for the Desert island project, all about the entertainment available on their islands.

S2 Spanish

This week pupils should complete the Reading and Writing assignment “Mi barrio” which can be found in the general channel on Teams. Pupils should submit the assignment via Teams. Pupils need to read a text in Spanish and answer questions in English then do a writing task based on the text.

S1 Spanish

This week, pupils are practising their Reading, Writing and Listening Skills on the topic of describing people.

Higher English

Mrs Nelson’s class will undertake a specimen Jekyll and Hyde exam paper and also the 2018 RUAE exam paper.

Miss MacPhail’s class are moving onto chapter 10 of ‘Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’. They will be continuing their work on exam strategy in their tutorial on Tuesday.

Ms MacDonald’s class will work on answering questions on the Scottish Set Text element of the Critical Reading paper.

S5/6 N5 English

This week pupils are continuing with ‘The Lighthouse’. They will look at setting, then will focus on consolidating everything they have learned before planning a critical essay.

 

S4 N5 English

Miss MacPhail’s class will spend their double period looking at how to answer the 8 mark questions in the Scottish Text section of the Critical Reading exam.

Ms MacDonald’s class will continue with Sailmaker Act Two and will look at past paper questions during our live lesson on Tuesday.

Miss Sullivan’s class will look at the 2018 SQA RUAE past paper on Tuesday’s tutorial so should read the paper in preparation.

S4 N4 English

This week, pupils will continue working on persuasive techniques. This week they are gaining practice in using alliteration.

S3 English

S3 will be writing PEA paragraphs about how Roald Dahl builds tension in ‘Lamb to the Slaughter. They will also think about the narrative perspective and how Dahl encourages the reader to feel sympathy for the central character, Mary Maloney.
