S1 Spanish

This week S1 are completing assessments on the topic of Bienvenidos and going over them. We will also be starting Unit 2 this week to talk more about yourself and your family. Pupils should start to work through slides 2-8 in the Mi familia y yo PowerPoint in the Mi Familia folder on Teams.

Higher Spanish

This week we are working on the document Amigos de los Mayores. The document is in the Society folder on Teams. You should work through the whole document including the reading and writing tasks at the end of the document.

Higher English

This week pupils will begin work on our Scottish Text, ‘Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’. Pupils should begin working through the PowerPoint in Files on MS Teams. Please check your Teacher’s Channel on Teams for guidance on specific slides and tasks.

S5/6 N5 English

Pupils who are self-isolating should work through the slides on ‘Sailmaker’ on MS Teams in ‘Class Materials’ making sure they have completed all tasks including analysis of the opening scene. Once this is completed, you should undertake the 2018 RUAE Close Reading Paper on ‘Why do cats love bookshops?’ which can be found in the ‘N5 Past Papers’ folder.
A reminder that Personal Reflective Essay’s are due today and should be emailed to your teacher’s Glow email.

S4 N5 English

Pupils should check their Teacher’s Channel on MS Teams for relevant updates and work posted.

Miss Murphy & Miss MacPhail’s classes should work through chapter 4 in the folio book up to p55 and then start writing their reflective essay. Remember, your essay should be 1000 words maximum and the checklist can be found in Files on MS Teams.

S4 N4 English

Pupils should continue working through the ‘Updated Stone Cold’ PPT which can be found in Files on MS Teams. After reading up to Page 104 in ‘Stone Cold’, pupils should update their visualisers for Link, Shelter and Gail. They should then work through slides 45-50. By the end of the week, pupils should have completed a bullet point summary, questions, your own quiz, metalinguistics grid and a prediction paragraph.

S3 English

Pupils who are self-isolating should continue working through the Basking Shark PPT on MS Teams which can be found in ‘Class Materials’. Once pupils have completed their visualiser, summary of each stanza and annotated any language techniques on their copy of the poem, they should begin looking at Metalinguistics.

S2 English

Classes 2.1-2.4

This group are starting poetry skills this week! The materials are on MS Teams in Files (Class Materials, S2 Poetry, Ballad of Billy Rose PPT) and they should start by working through the first lesson on rhythm.

S1 English

Any pupil who is self isolating should start working on the Creative Writing Unit on MS Teams. This can be found in ‘Class Materials’ in the folder ‘Creative Writing Unit’. Pupils should work up to Slide 12 on creating character.
Pupils should also be reading for enjoyment every day (at least 15 minutes) and noting what they have read in their planners.

Higher Spanish

This week all pupils should work through Text 5 and 6 (El alcohol and La droga) from Society reading booklets. Pupils should also ensure they have copied notes and completed the practice activities on the Conditional tense from the grammar booklet. I will post a worksheet on Teams page later today to practice all of the tenses we have been working on so pupils should also begin to work through this.
