S2 Spanish and French

S2 classes don’t have Spanish Thursday or Friday this week. 2.5-2.7 should be completing week 2 of the French desert island project today and sending it to their teacher is they haven’t already done so.

Higher Spanish

Pupils should complete a Directed Writing Assignment and submit it to Mrs Jackson by Friday. Pupils should try to complete this as close to exam conditions as possible.

S1 Spanish

Pupils should work through the PowerPoint, Describing yourself. Then complete a Listening task, Listos 1 Track 16. Pupils should listen and take notes of how every person describes themselves.

S5/6 N5 English

Pupils are continuing work on The Lighthouse and will focus on characterisation. Pupils should also make sure they have handed in the textual analysis practice assignment.

Miss McKenna’s class can join a tutorial on Thursday, periods 3 and 4. Miss Sullivan’s class can join a tutorial on the following Monday, periods 6 and 7.

S3 English

This week pupils are starting a new unit of work on Roald Dahl’s short story, ‘Lamb to the Slaughter’. The PowerPoint can be found on MS Teams in the General channel>Files>Class Materials>Lamb to the Slaughter.

S2 English

Pupils are continuing with the short story unit, ‘Charles’. The PowerPoint can be found on MS Teams in the General channel >Files>Class Materials>Charles.

S1 English

This week S1 pupils will be planning their own Burns supper from start to finish, thinking about: food, drink, entertainment and music.

Higher English

Ms MacDonald’s Higher Class will continue with Chapters Six and Seven of Jekyll and Hyde, the PowerPoint is in Files in the General channel. A reminder that a critical essay on”War Photographer” is due for Friday.

Miss MacPhail’s Higher class are continuing their work on “Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” Pupils are starting to work on Chapter Eight and will be practising their analysis and summarising skills.

Mrs Nelson’s class will continue working through “Dr Jekyll and Mr.Hyde”, undertaking tasks on Chapter Nine.

S4 N5 English

Ms MacDonald’s S4 class will continue to work on Act 1 of Sailmaker. They should be able to finish this by the week after the February break.

Miss MacPhail’s S4 are continuing their work on Sailmaker by looking at how the characters and their relationships develop in Act 2. Pupils will have a live tutorial on Thursday.

Miss Sullivan’s S4 will continue work on Sailmaker and will look at themes in Act 2. Pupils will then look at how to answer the Textual Analysis paper.
