P3/4 Class Trip to St. Mungo’s Museum

P3/4 were lucky enough to visit St. Mungo’s Museum of Religious Life to take part in an exciting workshop linked to our China Topic called ‘The Chinese Way’.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

We learned how to make Chinese Lanterns and Dragons and had great fun setting the table for a New Year’s Banquet. We also found out the meaning of Yin and Yang and learned about the Chinese Taoists, who were like superheroes!

A fantastic morning was had by all!

Eco Update: Litter Rota

Last week’s Litter Pickers were P3/4

As you can see unfortunately there was a lot of litter!

We are hoping that with the introduction of ‘Waste Free Wednesdays’ we will be cutting back on the litter in our playground.

Good luck to P4/5 this week!

Wednesday 7th November 2018

Primary 2/3 have experienced  a busy few weeks and have taken part in a variety of events within our school.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the Open Day where they were able to share their work with parents and other family members within the classroom. Primary 2/3 were able to demonstrate the variety of curricular based work that they experience each day within class, through jotters and wall displays.

They had great fun during their class Halloween party and enjoyed making a bat cup to trick or treat with.

The children have really enjoyed all things Autumn! They worked together using musical instruments to create sounds of Autumn and took inspiration from outdoor learning on the five senses.

Primary 2/3 have been working very hard on a variety of reading comprehension tasks within class and are making great progress in numeracy when using number talks to find strategies for addition tasks.

Well done, P2/3!

The boys and girls have been learning about remembering those who have died in World War 1 and 2.  We have been looking at Scottish heroes and the Victoria cross. The children also studied why the poppy was so significant and why it is so symbolic.  They then decorated their own poppies, using crepe paper in the form of a collage.

Number Talks!

This afternoon we enjoyed a Number Talks session! Please feel free to ask your child to explain all the fantastic mathematical thinking that took place, as can be seen on our board!

The key to Number Talks, is listening to how others might have solved a problem completely differently to what our approach might have been…
