The boys and girls in Primary 4/5 enjoyed writing about ‘Being stuck on Loch Ness’ today as their story title.  Their stories were very imaginative and creative.  They particularly enjoyed and benefited from reading their stories out aloud to their peers afterwards.

Friday 25th November 2016

Primary One have been very busy this week using active learning resources to make patterns. They used peg boards to design lots of fantastic patterns and will design kilts using strip patterns as part of our Scotland Event.

The children thoroughly enjoyed learning all about plants and planting during an ECO talk from Mr Andrew who visited the school from Drumpelier Nurseries. Primary One had lots of opportunities to handle seeds and listened very carefully during a question and answering session.

Well done, Primary One!

Eco Talk

On Thursday afternoon of this week all pupils enjoyed a talk from Mr. Alex Andrew from Drumpellier Nursery. The talk focused on how to plant seeds and plants that grow in all kinds of seasons. Pupils were eager to ask all kinds of questions about plants. Mrs. Goldie and the Eco Commitee organised this visit. Many thanks to Mr Andrew , the Eco Committee and Mrs. Goldie.image image image

Friday 25th November 2016

This week Primary Two have been working on calculations using subtraction. We have been exploring number sequences, missing numbers and related facts using both addition and subtraction. We are gaining confidence in calculating with accuracy. We are also enjoying the challenging element of using subtraction to problem solve.

We are effectively using various resources in our calculations. These resources include smart board games, white board activities, number fans, number lines and other concrete materials which help us to understand the concept of subtraction.
