Hello from Kilbowie! (Miss Jackson, Miss McFadyen and Primary 7)
Last night our nighttime activity was the night line, it was great fun, we were blind folded and had to trust the person in front of us to lead us on the correct path.
We have been exceptionally today on our planned activities, so much so that Miss Jackson forgot to do our blog post.
Today we have been out canoeing, orienteering and on safari.
ATÂ night we journeyed down to Oban for a walk and of course some well deserved chips!

Hello from Kilbowie (Miss Jackson, Miss McFadyen and Primary 7)
Arrived yesterday and settled in well. We had a great first day and even survived the long bus journey. We took part in some activities yesterday and today was the first day of organised activities with our instructors. We took part in skiing, climbing and navigation which was enjoyed by all as you can see from the smiling faces in the photographs.

P4/5 have had a busy week! Â They welcomed Miss Fleming to the class and have enjoyed
working alongside her to create their own Class Rules and new group names.
On Wednesday, the class participated in their first karate lesson which they thoroughly enjoyed!
The children have been learning about Fractions in Numeracy. They  enjoyed the challenge of creating their own ‘Fraction pizza’.  In Literacy, the children really enjoyed learning about alliteration and successfully created their own ‘Alliteration slogans’ for a sweet of their choice.

After the terrific two week long Easter holidays, our Primary Three historians were really keen to begin work on our new topic of Ancient Egypt.
We began with a brief introduction to Ancient Egypt, where we firstly looked at where Egypt is on a map and explored where it is in relation to Scotland. We were then fascinated to learn that the ancient Egyptians were alive over 5000 years ago, and that the River Nile was a very important part of their daily lives.
Our favourite activity this week was exploring Egyptian Hieroglyphs, which we know were used to tell stories and record information. We decided to try and spell our own names in hieroglyphics, and while we didn’t have any papyrus paper like the ancient Egyptians did, we used teabags and water to make our scrolls look as if they were from ancient times.
We really can’t wait to learn more about this interesting and exciting historical topic!
Next week we are really looking forward to having Mrs McKendrick teach us as Miss McFadyen will be in Kilbowie with Primary Seven.

This week, the children have been playing shops and using their money purses to give change. They worked very well with their partners to take turns buying and selling and enjoyed using the coins to work out their calculations. The children have also been consolidating spelling and phonemes this week and wrote about a visit from the Easter Bunny!
Primary One were sad to say goodbye to our fantastic students, Miss Jessimer and Miss McAdam. The children had great fun taking part in lots of exciting lessons prepared by the students and really enjoyed showing off their learning across the curriculum. They demonstrated their appreciation by making colourful thank you cards and presenting the students with flowers and chocolates. We wish Miss Jessimer and Miss McAdam good luck as they progress through their studies.

This was a great end to our term we had a visit from Calum from Cool Creature who brought with him some of his special friends, The children were able to handle and learn a bit about these animals. This time he brought a Skunk, an Armadillo, a Tortoise and 2 chicks that were a bit older than the ones we had in nursery, and not to forget the Snake. I think most of the children enjoyed these animals and had a great time. Have a happy holiday.
