French Tasting Session in P4/5

Today our P4/5 Francophiles were very excited to taste some traditional French food!

We had a tasting session where we tried Croissants, Brioche, Eclairs, Baguettes and Brie! We very all very brave and gave everything a try before filling out a chart describing how the food tasted, if it was sweet or savoury, and if we liked it.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Afterwards we discussed our opinions on the food and took a vote to find out which was our favourite, and which was our least favourite!

The baguette was the most popular item of food, followed closely by the croissant. Our least favourite was the Brie, which only Ava enjoyed! At least we gave it a try!

We are really looking forward to our October holiday after working hard all term long.

Friday 6 October

Primary 3/4 have enjoyed a very busy and productive week .

This week we enjoyed learning about the first hot air balloon ride which happened in Paris in 1783 . Two brothers called Joseph  and Jacque Montgolfier invented the first balloon . We learned that the first passengers were in fact farm animals . There was a sheep , a rooster and a duck . The special event was watched by King Louis XVI and Queen Antoinette .

In class we enjoyed writing our own imaginative stories about a balloon ride . We also enjoyed designing a balloon to display in our classroom . Well done to all our wonderful star writers .

To end the week we all enjoyed learning about the importance of keeping a healthy body and mind . We took part in yoga and meditation session to help us understand how to relax at home and school . To celebrate everything we learn we all create a mindfulness flower to remind us of how we can look after each other .

Friday 29th September

Hello from Primary One,

This week, the children worked very hard to accurately sequence a nursery rhyme during taught writing and are learning to take their time when colouring.

Primary One had great fun at karate with Vincent and listened very carefully to instructions. The children are progressing well in relation to balance and flexibility.

They are now able to say several French greetings and are working very well on French numbers.

Well done, Primary One!

Kilbowie Day 3

Here are some highlights from our final day and night at Kilbowie.

We were very lucky that we had two celebrations – the disco and birthday of one of our special classmates.

What a great way to end our fantastic time here!
