Transition

Today the Primary 6’s from St Kevins came to meet their buddies.  When the boys and girls from nursery go up to school next year their buddies will look after them in the playground and the dinner hall. They all had great fun and played lots of games together. The Primary 6 children were very well behaved and had great manners.

Halloween in P4/5

Primary 4/5 had a spooktacular time at their Halloween party today!

They took part in a whole school Parade and dance competition before heading back to the classroom for more ghoulishly good times!

There were devilish dancing games, creepy cartoons and terrifying treats such as Zombie Brain Cake to enjoy!

In the afternoon when our Primary 5s went swimming, the P4s learned about the Mexican Tradition of Dia de los Muertos and made our own Calacas Masks!

What a Gruesomely Great Day!

Today the children took part in forest kindergarten, where the children have the opportunity to learn about the natural environment, How to handle risk, most importantly to use their own initiative to solve problems and how to co- operate with their peers. This helps build confidence, self-esteem and learn about boundaries. The children all had a fantastic time making swing, playing on a sea saw, climbing trees, treasure hunts, jumping in the mud, making a shelter in case it rained and even built a pee tree! The children were able to use their own initiative to risk assess areas making sure they were safe to use.

Friday 27th October 2017

Hello from Primary One!

Primary One are becoming very excited about Halloween and have enjoyed listening to spooky stories and discussing their costumes.

The children did well to complete a spooky story very neatly in their taught writing jotters and remembered fingers spaces and staying in the lines when colouring a scary witch.

They are looking forward to dressing up, enjoying spooky goodies and taking part in fun activities on Tuesday.

Well done for working so hard, Primary One!

First Minister’s Reading Challenge in P4/5

This week our P4/5 reading enthusiasts received their reading passports from the Scottish Book Trust on behalf of First Minister. The passports will be filled out any time they finish a book, and they will give a brief review of what they thought. The books will be kept in class, but children can take them home if they wish to add any of the titles they are reading outside of school.

More information can be found at www.readingchallenge.scot

We also received some awards in Karate this week for ‘Most Improved’ as well as the winners of the infamous ‘Bleep Test’.

Well done to everyone involved!

Next week we are looking forward to our spooktacular Halloween party, which will be held on Tuesday morning.

We cannot wait to see everyone dressed up!
