P4/5

Our P4/5 poets put on a fantastic performance of ‘Street Talk’ by J.K. Annand at today’s Scots themed assembly. Everyone tried their best and the whole school were so impressed!

Today was also a very exciting day for two of our classmates! Our first recipients of ‘Tea with Mrs D’ were Cara M and Nathan!

We were so proud of them for their fantastic behaviour and effort. We will all now be trying extra hard to be the next P4/5s invited!

Next week we are looking forward to our trip on Friday to the Science Centre to learn more about our Space Topic.

We have started to explore the Moon, and on Monday will receive our Topic homework to be completed over the next 5 weeks. We will be asked to pick a time to look at the moon each night and draw how it looks in our special moon diaries. We will discuss and compare our observations each week.

Friday 26th January 2018

Primary One have had a very busy and fun filled start to 2018! The children thoroughly enjoyed making robots, boats and skyscrapers from junk and were very creative in the construction of their chosen item.

They had great fun at the bouncy castle and joined Primary Seven for a game of prize bingo where they showed off their number skills to the older children.

A great week, Primary One!

Happy New Year from P4/5

P4/5’s first week of school in 2018 was an interesting one.

We were very excited to learn that our new topic is Space!

We will be learning lots about The Solar System, and cannot wait for a trip to the Glasgow Science Centre to visit the Planetarium!

We also had great fun today at our Golden Time Technologies Challenge.

We worked in pairs or groups to come up with our own special inventions made from junk!

All of our creations were fantastic and Mrs Gaines had a difficult time choosing a winner. Finally she decided on Joshua, Cara and Lilia as our joint winners and the recipients of some new gel pens!

We look forward to seeing what’s in store for us this term.

Christmas in P4/5

Our last week of school before the Christmas holidays has been very festive!

On Monday we had our party where we danced, played party games and ate lots of treats!

We have also had fun learning about an other religious holiday that is currently taking place – Hanukkah.

We learned that Hanukkah is the Jewish Festival of Light, and enjoyed hearing the story of the first Hanukkah.

We made our own Menorahs which are lit each night of Hanukkah.

Today we learned how to play the traditional Jewish dreidel game, and made our own to play with. It was great fun!

We finished by learning the Dreidel song.

After all that festive fun we are ready for our Christmas break!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Holidays!
