This week P5/6 have enjoyed learning about Scottish Politics and the workings of the Scottish Parliament .

We worked with our shoulder partners to research information about our Local MSP Mr Fulton MacGregor. We enjoyed learning about his job as an MSP and his role in our Scottish society.

This week during taught writing we were practising the skill of letter writing . We discussed in groups issues that concern us about our own local community  and then we wrote some fantastic letters to Mr MacGregor highlighting our concerns .

We are looking forward to welcoming a representative of the Scottish Parliament to St Kevin’s on the 1st of December. They will be working with the children in the upper school and I am sure they will be impressed with their knowledge .

We are also delighted to be welcoming a regional MSP on the 5th of December and have already created some fabulous questions to ask during their visit .
