Hello from Primary 6/7,
This week we have been working very hard, we cannot believe that we are in our final term, and for many of us we will be making that transition to high school after the summer.
We have been busy this week practicing our inference skills. We have been using different types of passages including poems and we have been practicing answering inferential and evaluative questions. Mrs McLean from the English department at St Ambrose has been very impressed with our literacy skills!
We have also been doing the dreaded maths unit, fractions. Miss Jackson has been testing us on this and she is happy with the progress we are all making.
As it is May we have been learning all about Mary our mother and the importance of the rosary that will be incorporated into our morning prayers.
“Sometimes we know what we have to do, but we lack the courage to do it, let us learn from Mary, to make decisions, trusting in the Lord” Pope Francis
We are in the midst of our topic for this term, the Caribbean. We have loved it so far, learning about the early history such as the colonisation of the islands and the influences from other countries in terms of food, music etc. We started some art today where we will be creating a Caribbean sunset with silhouettes in the background. We were learning to blend and create gradual changes in colour. Here is one we made earlier.
