This week was a very busy one in Primary Three.
We started on Monday by exploring the Still Life artwork of The Scottish Colourists. We enjoyed discussing the different styles of their paintings as well as learning about the features of a still life. We then set up our own objects to draw, and concentrated really hard on training ourselves to draw what we can see, and not what we think we can see.
After we had finished our beautiful pictures, we rewarded ourselves by eating all of the delicious fruit – we really deserved it!
On Wednesday we were really excited to take part in our sponsored St. Andrew’s Day event. The activities we took part in included:
- Scottish Dancing
- Food Tasting
- A Powerpoint and Quiz about St. Andrew.
- Outdoor Games
- Making Tartan Kilts.
- Writing an Acrostic Poem about Scotland.
We all took part in each activity with great enthusiasm, and finished our day with a lovely prayer service.
A big thank you to the families and friends of all of the children for your very generous donations!
Finally, we had two celebrations in class this week. The first was for a top goal scorer who received a trophy from his football team, and the second was for the birthday of one of our special classmates.
We look forward to having a well deserved rest this weekend after such a busy week!
