Hello from Primary 6/7

This week has been jam packed with fun activities and workshops, we have all had a great week!

On Wednesday, we celebrated St Andrew’s day as a school with lots of fun sponsored activities. We took part in traditional Scottish dancing, food tasting (some yummy shortbread and tablet), we created an acrostic poem, we designed our own tartan and made traditional Scottish kilts and we also took part in a quiz about our patron saint. We ended the day with a beautiful service. We all had a fantastic day as you can see.

On Thursday a representative visited us from Scottish Parliament where we learned about Scottish politics and the role of the parliament in our country. It was a very engaging and interactive workshop where the pupils played the role of candidates in an election and took part in an election campaign as well as debating on whether a bill should be passed and working cooperatively in our parties. It was great fun and most pupils were raving about this when we left our workshop! Many thanks to Mrs Martin who visited us from the Scottish Parliament outreach programme!

It is the run up to Christmas and we have been busy preparing for our school show. This time is always incredibly busy in St Kevins so we hope everyone has an enjoyable and relaxing weekend.
