Hello from Primary 6/7
This week is Roald Dahl week where we have been celebrating 100 years of Roald Dahl, he was born in 1916 so he would be 100 today if he was still alive (which would make him as old as some of our teachers!)
On Thursday we took part in authors live where a live stream was broadcast from the BBC and Matthew Fitt the author or his own Scottish variations of famous Roald Dahl books such as ‘The Eejits’, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, ‘The Sleekit Mr Fox’ and ‘The CFG’ was being interviewed. He also talked about his role as an author and what inspired him to make his own unique and Scottish twist on some Dahl classics. We thoroughly enjoyed viewing this and even sent in some questions for Matthew to answer such as;
What inspired you to become an author?
What is your favourite author and why?
Who is your favourite character from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?
What part of the book do you find the funniest and why?
A thought for the weekend in the words of Roald Dahl
‘A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely ‘
