An Update From Primary 7

Hello again from Primary 7! We cannot believe that Term 1 is over already.

So far we have had an excellent first term full of learning, fun and lots of hard work, and we are excited to share with you what we have been learning.

During maths, we have been learning all about place value and applying our rounding skills and knowledge in a range of different activities and stations. We have also been improving our mental agility by discussing and learning new mental strategies during Number Talks. We have been learning about symmetry and using the outdoors and a variety of equipment to work cooperatively to create our own symmetrical pictures.

Primary 7 have had lots of wonderful opportunities this term such as the ‘Try Everything’ day where we had lots of fun. We were able to explore our individual skills, talents and abilities by taking part in a range of activities. We have also enjoyed a Judo taster session where the pupils had lots of fun trying out different Judo techniques.

We are also enjoying the responsibility and leadership in Primary 7 by training to be Sports Leaders. This involves working with our Active Schools coordinator to plan games and activities in small groups which the pupils will then deliver to our younger children during lunchtimes.

We are continuing to learn about, and apply, a growth mindset to help us be more successful. Primary 7 have learned about success being an iceberg, and enjoyed creating our own icebergs using different painting techniques.

We can’t wait to share our learning with you on the school Twitter feed and in our next blog post!
