Here is an update on the wide range of learning experiences Primary 3M have been enjoying so far this term.
Retreat
On Wednesday 16th of November we went on our Reconciliation Retreat to Holy Family Parish Church in Mossend. The day was made up of a variety of activities including; arts and crafts, role play, meditation and prayer. During the retreat, the children learned about the importance of Reconciliation and the gifts they will receive during Reconciliation. After listening to the story of The Lost Sheep we discussed how Jesus is always looking for us to come back to him after we stray and how happy he is when we do. The retreat was a very special and memorable experience enjoyed by all.
Outdoor Learning
As part of our Outdoor Learning Initiative Primary 3 have enjoyed rambling in Barons Haugh. During the rambling sessions, the children participated in a various range of team building activities such as; carving pumpkins, building fires, climbing and exploring different parts of Barons Haugh. This has given the children the opportunity to explore and appreciate the surrounding area as well as understanding the importance of team work.
Fly, Pigeon, Fly!
Our Interdisciplinary topic this term is, ‘Fly, Pigeon, Fly!’. Using the story as stimulus the children have been learning about the importance of the Glasgow shipyards to the city of Glasgow. The children are really enjoying this topic so far and love to impress with the knowledge they have gained.
Thank you for your continued support.
