We are having a great time with our new class and new topic.
Today we won cool class cup for our fabulous lining up and behaviour.We are very proud of ourselves.
All week we have been loving learning all about the 1980s. The music and fashion have been fun to learn about. We have had brilliant learning about toys of the eighties and this week we found success in turning isometric drawing into Rubiks cubes!

What have we been up to this past few weeks?
Working together as a team.
What else can we find in this grass?
We had lots of interesting experiences at the STEM week, exploring science with a magician and exploring maths and living things with the high school STEM ambassadors.
We had to find different items in the garden, we found a yellow flower, some seeds, a brown leaf, a twig, something green and lots of other treasures!Â
Mark’s dad made us a car and brought it in for us to see, we can keep it. He isn’t an engineer and some of us think this is a good job to do!
Our families came to the STEM zone with us and joined in with the challenge of designing and building someth8ng that had a moving part. We did really well and made some very interesting objects. 
We made gifts for our families to give to them at our Summer Tea. We made clay bowls and painted them too. 
We are now into our very last week of primary 1, our teacher is very sad as she loves us so much. We have had a great year and our teacher has loved getting to know us and our families. We have learned so much and have made fabulous friends. Thank you to our families for helping us in this very special first year of school.

Primary 5/6 had a great time in the S.T.E.M. Zone this week. Whether following K’Nex instructions, creating their own buildings or simply adding an unneccessary set of eyes to absolutely EVERYTHING that they made, this class certainly know how to have fun.

The standard of athletic performances in this school is very high, as many of you who attended our recent Sports Day will be able to confirm. However, these extraordinary performances are no accident. Instead, they are the result of hard work and hours of practice. In our school, we study many different athletic events so that we can do our very best when the big day comes. Have a look at our efforts above!

We have been learning about growing. We discovered that butterflies have a lifecycle. We all worked in cooperative groups to design symmetrical butterflies using a variety of materials.
Sunflowers also have a lifecycle. We looked at sunflowers and the painted our own. Our pots are decorated with pastels.

We drew and coloured beautiful sunflowers using chalk as part of our New Life topic. We have them on the wall outside our classroom now and they look pretty good. We have also planted beans, sunflowers and cress seeds and we have been looking after them to help them grow. They are getting very tall.
The nursery children visited us again for more play and reading sessions. We had fun and are looking forward to them coming to school in August.

We had a great time at Summerlee museum this week. Everyone enjoyed both workshops. The first one was all about the past and the way gran used to live, the second one was all about shape and colour.
At lunchtime we had the chance to play in the play park, we had it all to ourselves and it was good fun.
Our art workshop was interesting and we looked at some huge paintings in the museum. 
Also this week, we had some nursery visitors to our class, who came to play with us. They will be starting school this year, so it gave them the chance to see what it is like being in primary 1.

Here we are reading for enjoyment in the sunshine with our friends from P.2/3.
We had fun on our trip to Drumpellier Park. The park rangers took us pond dipping and a woodland walk. We found lots of little creatures in the pond and learned about the birds and animals living in the woods. Of course we hadn’t time to play in the park too!
The nursery children came to read and play with us to prepare themselves for coming to school. We had great fun.
