Primary 6a update

As part of Developing the Young Workforce week, we worked on writing our own C.V.s and promoting all of our skills and qualities. We had great fun holding mock interviews and working on our interview skills!

We enjoyed baking and decorating cookies, they looked and tasted delicious!

We have been continuing our hard work in Maths this week, working on drawing angles and multiplying by multiples of 10, 100 and 1000. We have been learning new skills in P.E. in our block of Basketball, learning new passes and working on our dribbling skills.

Primary 4

We’ve had another busy week in P4.

We enjoyed making witches potions for Halloween adding lots of weird and wonderful ingredients and loved watching the cauldron bubble! We then wrote out own spells and potions- some to make your teacher fly!

As part of our Scotland topic we learned about famous tartans and even created our own kilts! We enjoyed being creative with the horizontal and vertical lines.

Today we attended mass with the whole school for All Saints Day and celebrated the lives of the saints who are in heaven.

Primary 6b update

We have been hard at work this week in Primary 6b after our lovely week off.
We are all well rested and ready to start another great term!

We started off this week with a visit from the local police and fire department to remind about keeping safe with Guy Fawkes night approaching💥.

We began our new topic and we will be learning all about the country of Spain 🇪🇸. We began to think about the things which we already know about Spain which was far more than we initially thought!

In maths, we have been learning all about rounding and adjusting multiplication sums with Mrs MacIntyre which we were super at!

We had a ball at the Halloween Disco and our costumes were fantastic!

Lastly, we are so excited to have won Cool Class Cup this week and are looking forward to using the Cool Class games this week. 🏅🏆

Primary 4

P4 have had a good start back to the new term. On Monday we met our local Police and Firefighters. We are looking forward to working with them throughout the year.

We started our new topic this week which is Scotland. We researched facts about the country we live in and found some interesting facts. Did you know our national animal is a unicorn? We also were able to find different Scottish Cities on a map.

We enjoyed the Halloween Disco and have been getting in the Halloween spirit by creating some fabulous spooky haunted house pictures and Halloween Lanterns. We think they look great!

A fantastic start to the new term!

Well done to all of the boys and girls inPrimary 5 this week, we have all made a positive start to term 2 and have been working so hard in class! In maths we are learning to use our mental addition and subtraction strategies to answer lots of challenging questions but we have persevered and tried our very best! In taught writing, we are learning to use persuasive language and we have written some very detailed letters to our school management team, we can’t wait to find out who the star writers will be this time! Finally, we created some spooky haunted houses during our art lesson on Wednesday and we think they look amazing, we hope you like them!

Primary 1 update.

Welcome to our term 2 blog. We have had a busy week this week! Here you can see the autumn hedgehogs we painted using sponges. We did this when we were exploring the season of autumn in RE and across the curriculum. Everyone wrote autumn poems too and autumn prayers thanking God for autumn.

In PE this week we practiced our ball skills, controlling the ball with our feet. You can see us at one of the skills practice stations.

Our class street is complete! Lots of buildings have been made and added to the street and we think it would be a great place to live as it had everything you need. Well done to all who helped create these fabulous buildings.

Below, you can see our wall display showing some of our topic work for last term when we looked at our local community. This was an enjoyable topic for us to start with.

Another set of autumn pictures showing the trees changing colour from green to red, brown, orange, gold and yellow. We think these look wonderful!

In our class we are trying to improve our learning by using some helpful Growth Mindset characters. So far we have met Deema Duck who never gives up, Hamal the have a go hedgehog, Colin the concentrating caterpillar and Freddie the fun frog.

Look below to see some more buildings from our street.

P6b Update

We had a great start to the week, taking part in paired cooking with primary three making shortbread!

We also had our first parents evening of primary six this week, so our parents could hear all about how well we’ve all settled into primary six.

Also, we have been busy raising money for our sponsored walk which we took part in this morning. We walked round Drumpellier Loch and had a wonderful time!

We are all ready for a well deserved rest over October week in preparation for another great term!

Primary 4

Primary 4 enjoyed being the Cool Class Cup winners this week. We had lots of fun playing the Cool Class Games.

In writing we wrote newspaper articles about our sponsored walk and acted as Journalists to find out the information we needed. We interviewed different people and researched information about the park before we wrote our articles.

This morning we took part in our school sponsored walk around Drumpellier Loch, it was a lovely day and we had fun but our legs were sore at the end!

We are looking forward to our October Break as we have worked so hard and had such a busy term!
