Religious Education

We are now in the month of May.  This is the month of Our Lady.  In May we honour our lady and pray to her knowing that she will help us with all our needs.

Today I would like you to make a May altar.  This is what you need;

Some blue fabric.

A picture or a statue of Our Lady.

A set of rosary beads.

A candle.

Now find a quiet place and set up your May altar.  It might look like this.

If you don’t have these thing you can draw a picture of a May altar, remember to add in the things above.

Now say a Hail Mary and ask our lady to help you and your family during this difficult time to stay safe and healthy.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Ok boys and girls, I want you to choose a new book today.

Try to read your book but ask for help when you need to.

Remember to sound out your words and use all the pictures to help you to read your book.

After you have read your book 3 times, I would like you to tell your mum and dad all about it.

Talk about the characters, what happened in the story and where the story took place.

Now draw 3 pictures; 1 about the beginning, one about the middle and 1 about the end of the story.

Can you write 1 sentence about each picture to tell the story.

Beginning, Middle, End Writing Paper | Writing paper, Writing ...

Just like the template above.

Now boys and girls, here is a beautiful story for you to watch and listen to, its all about the 4 seasons.  I hope you enjoy it.

Ok boys and girls, today we are going to practise these words by using Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check.

So, look at the word,

Say the word,

Cover it up now.

Write the word (without looking at it).

Now check and see if you got it right.

After you have done this with each word you can make rainbow words.

Number

Addition and Subtraction

Addition is taking two or more numbers and adding them together to make a bigger number.

You can use a number-line or cubes or pasta or anything you want to help you to add up.  Here is a work sheet for you to complete.

Subtraction is when you have a number and you take away another number to make a smaller number.

Hope you have a great day and stay safe.
