Parent Council and PTA

Parent Council

The Parent Council is a body of elected members who form a council working alongside the senior leadership team within the school.

As well as representing parents’ voices, the Parent Council leads PTA fundraising — bringing our community together to support and enhance school life for every student.

All parents are warmly welcomed to join the PC. The Head teacher/senior leadership team act as the professional advisors to the PC and have a right and duty to attend all meetings.

Parent Council meetings are open to all parents and carers and these dates are made available on the school calendar, school emails or via the Parent Council Facebook page 

PC Rights and Duties

▪ Supporting the work of the school 

▪ Representing the views of parents

▪ Reporting back to the parent forum on matters of interest

▪ Promoting contact between the school, parents, pupils and the wider community 

▪ Receiving reports from Head Teacher and NLC

▪ Receiving an annual budget for administration, training and other expenses.

Procedures for election of a parent representative to PC

In accordance with the Parent Council Constitution, co-opted members will serve a period of 2 years.

This is reviewed at the AGM meeting (usually held in September)
