We have had a very busy day finding out about Robert Burns and celebrating his life. We have designed some tartan, recited some of his famous poems, ate some delicious haggis, neeps and tatties and sang Auld Lang Syne.

Fulton MacGregor MSP visited the school today to present the Christmas card competition winner with his prize. The winning design has been made into a Christmas card which Fulton sent out to his friends and colleagues. Well done to everyone who took part.

The children from the Sikeside and Carnbroe choirs joined together to sing for some special guests at the new Riverbank school site. We even had a surprise appearance from Santa.

Thank you to everyone who came along to support the children at the Christmas Nativity. I’m sure you will agree that the children were amazing and we certainly have a few stars of the future at Sikeside.

The P7 joined pupils from Carnbroe and Coatbridge High to participate in a Santa Dash.The pupils completed a circuit of Dunbeth Park before returning to the High School for some hot chocolate. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the collection for  the Coatbridge Foodbank on the day.

The children all had an amazing time at the Pantomime at Motherwell Theatre. It was fantastic to be part of a live performance after a few years away. The children loved the 3D experience , even if a few of us did get a little bit wet.

The classes all had a great time participating in our Sponsored Walk. It was a great opportunity to explore our local environment and raise funds for our Christmas Celebrations.

Congratulations to our Sikeside Sparklers for the month of November.  The children have shown great resilience and achieved success across the curriculum.

Our pupils are continuing to impress us with their kindness and helpful attitude towards others. They really are amazing friends.
